Jewelry Care
Sterling Silver: Since Sterling tarnishes easily, you should store these items in a plastic baggie or a tupperware container. The oxygen in the air oxidizes with alloys in the Sterling, resulting in tarnish. Keeping Sterling items properly sealed will help prevent tarnishing. Delicafiné recommends cleaning and polishing with a silver jewelry polishing cloth.
14K Gold-Filled: These products are 14K gold that has been bonded to metal, giving it more strength and making it more resistant to dents than solid 14K gold. While more expensive than gold plate, gold-filled is much less expensive than solid 14K gold but will scratch like 14K gold if excessively rubbed. Again, storing in baggies is a good way to protect your jewelry.
Common Sense Instructions:
• Jewelry is delicate; please handle with care and refrain from yanking or tugging.
• Don't let children play with your jewelry.
• Store flat, away from sunlight and heat, as it may fade or dry out certain stones.
• Remove jewelry before bathing, swimming, or doing chores that require chemicals.
• Always put your jewelry on last, after getting ready, and remove it first when getting undressed.
Also, natural gemstones and Swarovski crystals, especially, should be wiped with a clean cloth occasionally to clear skin oil build-up/fingerprints and restore brilliance and luster.
